Colour Grading for portraits & Architecture
Colour grading is the process of applying colour tints to the highlight, mid tones and shadows of a particular image. Additional enhancements to contrast, texture and detail are also applied. Colour grading is a creative choice and has the benefit of complementing a brand or setting the tone for a brand that needs to be consistent across all images. For example a colour grade can represent brand colours, style or tone. Other reasons for opting to colour grade is that it will create a unique image which will differentiate itself from all others, this can be useful when images are used in a social media context or alongside other competing brands.
Portraits benefit dramatically from colour grading but it can be applied to architecture and product shots. I have provided examples of the same portrait and architecture image below.
Options include basic preset colour grade or custom made grades.
