I’m committed to reducing my carbon footprint and making sustainability a core part of how I work. To keep my efforts focused and intentional, I’ve written the mission statement below to guide my approach and set clear goals for creating a more sustainable business.
1. REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT
a. Sustainable Transportation
- Use of public transportation, cycle, or walk when possible.
- Hybrid vehicle for on-location shoots.
- Share transport with clients or other team members.
b. Energy Efficiency
- Energy-efficient LED lighting in my office
- Equipment powered or charged using renewable energy.
- Ensure equipment is off when not in use and avoid standby mode.
- Reduce office heating, turning it off or reducing it when not needed.
c. Sustainable Equipment Choices
Invest in durable, high-quality gear to minimise the need for replacements. Repair and recycle my equipment whenever possible.
d. Eco-Friendly Practices
Use recycled materials for prints, props, and packaging. Avoid single-use plastics and other disposable items to cut down on paper waste. Fully digitised processes, including contracts and invoices.
e. Localising Shoots
Prioritise working with local clients and shooting nearby to minimise travel emissions. Try to source props and services from local suppliers.
2. OFFSETTING UNAVOIDABLE EMISSIONS
Carbon Offsetting Programs
Any emissions that cannot be eliminated, are off set using Ecologi a subscription based and pay as you go fund that invests in tree planting, climate action and restoration of ecosystems.
3. CERTIFYING MY PROGRESS
I regularly measure my carbon footprint using Ecologi. Ecologi measures and evidences my tree planting activity, creates and impact report and publishes my progress in certifications and goals achieved.
