About Alex
I am Alex Orrow, a Surrey based commercial photographer with over 25 years of experience working with organisations across the UK and internationally.
I specialise in corporate portrait and business photography, creating images that feel natural, grab attention, and are credible. My work has been commissioned by brands such as Apple, Barclays, Bupa, NHS, and British Airways, and published in national titles including the Guardian and Financial Times.
I understand how marketing and communications teams work. I know that imagery must align with brand guidelines, work across multiple platforms, and be delivered on time and on budget.

Flexible Headshot only Fees Start at £375 for upto 3 people with additional staff added at £25 per staff member.
CORPORATE FEES Start at £550

Travel and expenses within Surrey to a single location are included within all fees. Depending on the duration and requirements of the shoot I will either travel by train or car. I will discuss and plan with you to ensure that there is time for me to arrive and setup equipment as well as scout the location to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
I ideally like at least 2 to 3 weeks’ notice before any shoot. I understand that some projects come together quickly and always try to accommodate short notice bookings. FAQ's
Do you travel for shoots, and are there any additional travel costs?
Yes, I work throughout Surrey and Greater London, and across the UK. Travel within 25 miles of Reigate is included in all fees. For projects further afield, travel time and expenses will be factored into the quote. I typically charge £25 per hour travel time and £0.50 per mile.
How long does a typical shoot take?
It depends on the brief. A straightforward headshot can be as quick as 2mins for high volume sessions or upto 15 mins per person if multiple poses and changes of clothing etc are required. I prefer to allow about 10 mins this allows time to break the ice and make the experience relaxed and ensure I capture authentic expressions.
Annual report, marketing, interiors and architectural photography can take anywhere from 4 hours to a multiple day shoot. Most of my clients book a 4-8 hour shoot. I’ll advise on timings once I understand your needs.
What do you need from us before the shoot?
Along with a brief, style guide and and layout considerations. It can also be very useful to see a list of who will be photographed.
A discussion about logistics for arrival can be especially useful for shoots staking place in Central London. Details about access to a loading bay or parking space. This can save time when loading in equipment.
A photo or video tour of the spaces where I am going to set up and or the location. To be photographed. If an in person recce is not possible.
What if we need to reschedule?
I understand that plans can change. Just give as much notice as possible, I’ll always do my best to accommodate a new date, and there’s no charge for rescheduling within 5 days notice.
What happens if the weather is bad or something unforeseen happens?
Communication before the shoot is the best approach if weather is a factor, I will work with you to find a mutually agreed date. It’s then a question of checking the weather leading up to the shoot and making a decision based the latest report. If weather conditions looks unsuitable then its a question of rescheduling to more favourable forecast. If rescheduling is not possible, I will make the best of the situation.
Are your quotes all-inclusive?
Quotes include planning, the shoot itself, post-production for an agreed quantity of images and licensing for usage. Travel outside the local area, additional image editing, retouching, or extended usage rights can be added if needed, and will always be discussed up front. Usage rights as standard include all uses excluding advertising out of home and in editorials.
Do we get all the images?
I provide all the images from the shoot as a low res batch processed image file suitable for proofing the finished edited photographs, these images can also be used for social media content. Batch processing involves applying the same contrast, exposure and colour balance settings across all images.
An agreed quantity of individually edited and finished images are supplied with every shoot and the option to purchase more is available. Finished images are processed and edited individually, this results in an image optimised at the best quality possible and is most suitable for website and print use.
I do not recommend using batch processed images for marketing collateral, website or print use.
How much do you charge?
Most clients invest between £550 to £1500.
Fees start at £375. The final fee depends on the scope of the brief, location and quantity of finished images required.

Do you offer retouching?
Yes, all selected finished images are retouched with light, natural-looking retouching. This covers temporary blemish removal, gentle skin tone smoothing, and reduction of redness.
Architectural images are sometimes composited together, lens distortion and perspective are adjusted.
How long does it take to deliver the final images?
Typically within 5 working days I provide lightly edited batch processed proofs and then a further 5-10 days to complete and supply fully edited finished high res files.
